Promotions and Classes Galore!

So much has happened since my last post. As usual things are staying busy. Emersyn is taking gymnastics. She goes once a week and loves it. I wanted to get her into more things. She is now taking an art class, a class called Terrific Twos which is running and obstacle courses and a theatrical dance class. The dance studios here won't take her until she is three, so this one will have to do. She loves it. She goes by herself and didn't care that we left her (I was more upset about it than she was). All of her teachers are energetic and great with the kids. She is enjoying being around other children more and is thriving in the classes.
Jason also got promoted in January. It will be a year at Payless Headquarters for him in mid-February. He went from being an analyst to a planner. This was a big step up with a lot more responsibility. We were so proud of him and the discounts aren't bad. In fact we just purchased 900.00 worth of saucony and striderite shoes for family and ourselves for about 450.00. Payless surprisingly owns a lot of other brands and the discounts are amazing! I can't wait to get my new running shoes. To make everyone out there gasp who know me, I have been doing yoga consistently with girlfriends from work every week and plan to start running. (I told you a lot has changed --HA HA)

This was an outfit that Emersyn came up with on her own one day. We laughed at her running around and dancing in this ridiculous outfit.

On Saturday mornings we go to the library for storytime. Kyler sings and reads stories to the kids. We met the Hundley's there one morning and this is Lucy and Emersyn playing.

Morning time Emersyn. I just like her grown-up robe look.

Our Very Busy New Year

This past week has been busy. Mommy & Daddy spent New Year's in Kansas City, ringing the new year with friends from college. On January 6th, Emersyn's gymnastics started up again and I celebrated my birthday. We went as a family to Chuck E Cheese for my birthday dinner that night. I wanted to do something fun that Emersyn would like. What better way to drown your sorrows of turning 29 than with the sound of screaming children and chaos around you! Emersyn enjoyed the experience and didn't want to leave. I think her favorite part was buying things at the end of night with the tickets her dad had fun winning her. The next night, we celebrated my birthday with Jason's family. Nana & Papa came into town this weekend to celebrate my birthday too. It was good to see them, however, it was a short trip. Emersyn enjoyed playing in the snow as daddy shoveled the driveway tonight. We got a lot of snow and plan on making "icecream" out of snow tomorrow.

Mommy's birthday dinner at Kiku Japanese Steakhouse with Nana & Papa. She loved the food and show....maybe she'll be a chef someday.

Gymnastics started this Thursday again. She is getting really good! Having a blast at Chuck E Cheese.

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We celebrated with Jason's family earlier in the week. Santa brought her a Barbie Jeep to the Tryon's house. She got a lot of fun things from them. We then traveled to Garden City to spend time with my family. It was good to see my grandpa and geesa. Emersyn was delighted to wake up to an ariel vanity and dress up clothes that Santa brought. She had so many presents between my parents and us, that she got bored opening them and stopped half way through. At about 4pm that day, she decided she wanted to go for round 2. I hope that she doesn't think that there will always be 2 rounds of gifts. We hope your holidays were safe and full of blessings....ours was.

Christmas Preparations & Parties

Christmas this year has been exciting. Emersyn is really getting into the spirit. We listen to Christmas music every chance we get. Her and I snuggle up and watch the old classic Christmas movies, like Rudolph, Santa Claus is coming to town, Grinch and Frosty. We also adopted an Elf from the North Pole and named him Herbie. He flies home each night to report to Santa on Emersyn's behavior. She enjoys learning about Santa and is really excited for him to come this year. It is amazing to have a child at Christmas. The excitement of a child this time of year is truly fulfilling. We have made ornaments, painted pottery at a local store and baked cookies so far. Jason and I went to Jenny & Dustin's Griswold family Christmas party this weekend. Jason Dressed up as Cousin Eddie, and I was Ellen from the movie when they are eating Christmas Dinner.

It is hard to see his dickie under his shirt just like the movie.

Jenny was Margo from the movie when she goes to the Griswold's house and the squirrel jumps on her. She nailed it.

Cookies with Mommy & Daddy:
We take these cookies with us when we ride around town listening to Christmas music and looking at the lights.
