KSU Game & Wedding Anniversary

We took Emersyn to her first basketball game on Wednesday. They played Missouri...what a game! She enjoyed looking at everything , but got a little upset when the crowd would cheer loudly. She got used to it by the end of the game. My dad was in town for a meeting so we met at our usual "game day hang out" Bob's. On Saturday, Jan 31, we went to a surprise 60th Anniversary party for Jason's grandparents. Below are the pictures from both events.

Family Photo. She has teeth coming in and can't keep her hands out of her mouth.
Great-Grandma Tryon. She watches Emersyn when Jason has to work day shifts. They get to spend quality time together.
Before that game started. This picture will be on the Jumbo tron of the Texas Tech game (Feb 11) during the second half during the "Future Wildcats" segment.
Before the game sitting with Daddy.

Giving Mommy "kisses." She slobbers on your check and gives you kisses.

Being a goofball this morning.

She was acting like Oliver.

Chi Omega Initiation and Birthday Weekend

This weekend we drove to Manhattan to be witness to Emily (Levi's girlfriend) Hay's initiation into Chi Omega at Kansas State University. This was the sorority that I was in while at Kansas State. It was so special to be in the room and be apart of her joining a lifetime of sisterhood. On Saturday we had a birthday party for Jaden. He turned 7 this year. There are a few pictures of her in her "party dress". My mom bought her the dress for Christmas. It was the first and last time she will wear the dress....Apparently Emersyn has grown!
Uncle Levi watching her while mommy got ready to go to Chi O.

The newly initiated "Sister Hays" (Aunt Emily as we call her) and Emersyn (a Chi Omega legacy).

This is a picture of hopefully three Chi Omegas. Emersyn will be a Legacy and a Tie to the sorority.

Party time.

"Dancing"

Standing....I think we are just going to bypass sitting. She would much rather hold onto something and stand on her own.

My big girl.

"What can I get into?"

Smile.

Just a cute one that mommy threw in because I like her in this outfit!!

First KSU vs KU basketball game

Emersyn might have been the only one smiling in our house after the KSU vs KU basketball game. Emily bought her this outfit for christmas.

Is this normal?

These are some pictures taken of Emersyn at 5 months 5 days old. She doesn't like to sit, she only likes to stand. She can stand for long periods of time with just holding on to one finger. Below are pictures of her biting my finger and her standing on her own. She did this for quite some time. I did not have ahold of her at all. Is this normal?
Not a good picture. She is NOT leaning up against me and I am NOT holding her back. She has ahold of one finger only!

Again, I'm not holding her at all. She is biting my knuckle and staying up on her own.

A better angle. Is her love of biting me something I should be worried about?

Birthday Week

The week of Jan 5-Jan 11, 2009 was quite busy. It started by celebrating mommy's 27th birthday on the 6th. Emeryn got mommy a new purse, some stackable birthstone rings with her and her siblings names and birthdays and clothes. Emersyn also sent flowers to mommy's work. On Jan 7, 2009 we celebrated Emersyn's 5 month birthday. Mommy decided to take pictures of Emersyn in some of her new clothes. She got soo many clothes for Christmas, that I want to take at least one picture of every outfit. She laughs when you change her clothes so she was a good sport. On the 8th, Ashley Stanker drove down from KC to babysit Emersyn. They did all kinds of girlie stuff! It was so wonderful for Emersyn to get to bond with her. On the 9-11th my parents came to celebrate my birthday. It was nice to spend time with them. On the 11th Emersyn sat down for her 1st taste of babyfood. She is now getting the hang of it and eats almost an entire container in one sitting. She takes after mommy and LOVES to eat.

Happy birthday to you! I made these for my kids in my psychosocial group and we had one for Emersyn's 5 month birthday. Jan 7, 2009. She didn't eat the whole thing. I did let her taste a little frosting. She LOVED it.

Ashley Stanker drove from KC to babysit Emersyn one day when mommy & daddy needed a babysitter. She was so great to help them out and spend quality time with her niece! They did all kinds of fun things and did lots of girl talk. Soon enough she'll be able to have annual junk food days with Ashley & Mommy.

Aunt Ashley and Emersyn.

Good Morning Sunshine!

Not quite awake in the morning.

Mommy & Emersyn before mommy opened her presents.

My mother used to put my bibs on my head and call me "Sister Ashley". She decided to try it out on Emersyn as well.

Smile!

Levi's New Year's resolution was to be more hands on with Emersyn. He is slowly being less scared of holding her.

1st bite of baby food. Jan 11, 2009. Carrots!

Carrot's...I don't know if I like those?

Bath time after the 1st baby food experience. Jason gave her a bath and calls this her "comb over". He joked that she looks like a used car salesman.

New Year's 2009

New Year's Eve is such a special time for us. Jason asked me to marry him on New Year's eve 2003 in Tempe, AZ while KSU was playing in the Fiesta Bowl. It was a little sad that 2008, a year that was soo good to us had come to an end. This year we had sushi and drinks with our friends Rachel & Kenny Hundley here in Topeka. On New Year's day we went to visit our good friends The Stanker's. Here are a few pictures of Emersyn at the Stanker's home. We also visited Ashley Stanker's parents the Smalley's. It was nice for Emersyn to get to meet Ashley's parents, which have been like mine too.

Ashley, Luke & Ellie Stanker and Emersyn looking at Luke's finger.

"Uncle Luke's" finger is very interesting. Luke was the first person to get Emersyn to laugh.

Ellie LOVES babies....HINT HINT Ashley & Luke.

Happy 2009!
